This webinar is organized as part of the CESP project "OpenPSD: Promoting publication and use of private-sector data on biodiversity", and is aimed at companies and private institutions that promote or work with biodiversity, for example, in Environmental Impacts Studies or Monitoring Programs. The open data sharing could be important to increasing biodiversity scientific knowledge and to contributing for better management of natural resources. For companies, it could also mean an effort towards actions of Corporate Social responsibility, that should be integrated to improve strategies regarding sustainability indicators.
The webinar will have the participation of companies such as EDP and Aqualogus, that already have published their biodiversity data through GBIF. It will also bring the perspectives from CIBIO and the Portuguese Environmental Agency (APA), regarding the contribution that biodiversity open data from private organisations can give to scientific advances and to greater transparency to society.

- GBIF and data sharing
- Experience and advantages of data sharing through GBIF
- The importance of private sector data sharing and benefits from data use
- The importance of Environmental Impact Studies’ data publishing
- The importance of open data for Environmental Impact Studies and Monitoring Programs reporting
